Everyone, from those who have been in the hobby of reef keeping for decades, to those who have been in the hobby for 10 times. Zoanthids are just one of those corals that captivate all levels of hobbyist. The thing about Zoas is when they are happy with their situation they can grow like mad. So all hobbyist who keep Zoanthids will be faced with the decision to frag or not to frag.

Fragging Zoathids, isn’t necessarily difficult but it does require some basic knowledge and equipment. Below you will find a quick video on fragging zoas and a list of equipment to help you get the job done.

The equipment needed for fragging zoanthids isn’t necessarily expensive which Corals Unlimited sells a Soft Coral Frag Kit for $35.99 which would cover everything you need with the exception of gloves, safety glasses and coral cutters.

Probably the most important thing to talk about when you are considering fragging zoathids is using safety equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. This items are important because they can protect you from Palytoxin. Although not present and all zoanthids… they all should be handled with care.
